Aries The Ram

Aries: The Child

The little Aries is something of a handful. This energetic child will walk and run as soon as possible and perform daring feats of exploration. Any caregivers will need to be vigilant, since this small individual does not know the meaning of fear and is especially prone to head injuries. Many children born under this sign appear hyperactive and easily frustrated when they cannot get their own way. Since they are always in a rush to get on with life, they are prone to violent temper tantrums and dramatic physical displays. Nevertheless, the natural enterprise and curiosity of the Aries child does need to be encouraged and it is important to place as few restrictions on this little one as possible. Explain to the Aries child...reason with the Aries child...but never complain. Persuade the little Aries to take up a hobby which requires the development of patience, for those born under this Sign are the least patient of the Zodiac and will need such self-control later in life.

The Aries child loves to take things apart and may break toys easily. With encouragement, however, he or she will develop formidable coordination. The bossy tendencies of this little one should be molded into leadership qualities rather than allowed to become bullying in nature. Otherwise, the "me first" Aries will have many clashes with other strong-willed youngsters. Since the Aries child is usually vocal in expressing needs, any caregiver should have no problem in discerning what this little character most desires. The key emphasis should be on helping this child to control his or her temper and develop self-discipline and respect for authority. It is important to be vigilant, but the Aries child must be allowed plenty of space. It is also important to emphasize good manners and consideration for others in order to help the willful little Aries to get along socially with playmates. Aries children should be persuaded to take out their aggressions and frustrations in active, competitive sports. Indeed, this is where they usually excel.

Essentially a direct and uncomplicated individual, the little Aries rarely suffers from hidden anxieties or psychological difficulties. However, stimulation and a sense of achievement are vital to this child. Without these two things, this little one can easily turn into an extremely difficult child to live with. Blessed with deep resources of determination, the Aries child is able to face any challenge, but does tend to act before thinking. Since he or she will be passionate about absolutely everything which is of personal importance, there is liable to be a great reluctance to share. There may also be a tendency to make loud and/or unkind remarks about a playmate. Unfortunately, the Aries child will rarely consider such behavior to be selfish, perceiving this as nothing more than an assertive right to do and say as he or she pleases. As a general rule, Aries children with younger siblings learn to deal with their inherent selfishness much better than those who are only children or who happen to be the "baby" of the family.

Blessed with a retentive memory and quick flow of thought (to say nothing of the abundant ambition inherent in this sign), the Aries child normally excels in scholastics. However, this little one is high-strung and will expend much energy in trying to accomplish too many things at the same time. Thus, a great deal of sleep at regular intervals will be most beneficial to this child. Restless and inquisitive, the Aries child is seldom content with any one thing for a great length of time. It is important that the plans of this little one not be interferred with, since such interference will often cause him or her to lose all interest in the task at hand. He or she should be left alone to work out things out in his or her own way...and, by so doing, develop individuality. As the Aries child grows to be a teenager, the competitive side of his or her nature will gradually become increasingly apparent. A certain degree of freedom of choice will be necessary in order to maintain the peace, particularly since a fight or argument will be the very spice of this child's life, and it is important to bear in mind that the young Aries (much like his or her older counterpart) will never acknowledge defeat.

Aries: The Girl

The Aries girl will be full of verve and something of a live wire. With an abundance of energy to burn, she tends to attract many admirers. There is a fiercely independent streak here and any girl governed by this Sign will chart her own course. It would not be unusual to find the Aries girl adopting a leadership role at school and, since this Zodiac Sign rules the head and face, she will always be extremely particular about her make-up. Aries girls can be rather selfish at times and will probably balk at exchanging clothes with a younger sister. There could be some major sibling feuds here and it may be necessary for the parents to intervene on occasion. This is a hyperactive youngster...forever rushing from one activity to the next...and given this girl's energy, she is likely to be actively involved in sports, usually of the physically demanding type. Aries girls are self-sufficient and pursue what they want with much willpower and determination. This girl will "think big" and is likely to attend academic institutions which are the most beneficial on a personal level. In short, this is an achiever who is definitely "going places."

Aries: The Boy

The Aries boy will be difficult to keep up with due to his tremendous amounts of energy. There is also an inherently fiery temper here which could reach a dangerous level if provoked. Nonetheless, the Aries boy will be one of the most dynamic youngsters around. On occasion, his haste will get him into trouble or even accidents. The Aries teenager views life as one long competition and constantly struggles to come out on top. This, combined with the impulsive nature associated with Aries, often leads to frustration. This boy is a born leader and will always rush to take charge of any given situation. Whether it be the school football team or the local boy scout troop, he will be in a position of some authority. This lad can be somewhat self-centered at times because of his need to have things his own way. Basically, the Aries boy is a pioneer and will want to personally chart his own goals in life. When presented with a challenge, he will be the first to jump in and accept it. In short, the Aries lad is certainly "going places."

Aries: Childhood Stages

The Ruling Planet of Mars does not make it easy for the children of Aries to sit still, since they possess an abundance of physical and emotional energy, and can be very impatient when waiting for an answer to their needs. Given that Mars is the God of Action, as well as being associated with energy, muscle and aggression, the little ones governed by this Planet like to compete and are usually good at all forms of sports activities. Indeed, they require physical outlets in order to burn off their high energy level. Since Aries is one of the three Fire Signs (together with Leo and Sagittarius), any child governed by this element will need to learn patience above all else. Second in importance will be to learn respect for the rights and feelings of others. Last (but certainly not least), children of Fire should be afforded every opportunity to work off excess energy...play, sports and dancing are all excellent avenues. Talk works much better than punishment with Fire children. In fact, too much punishment can easily result in a rebellious and "wild child." The gift of an Aries child is the ability to be an inspiration to others.

Aries: Parent-Child Relationships

Aries Parent/Aries Child: Since all Aries individuals (regardless of age or gender) make for much better leaders than followers, some confusion could arise in this relationship regarding exactly who is in charge . In this situation, the little Aries will have to be encouraged and advised with a certain amount of diplomacy and tact, otherwise tantrums are likely to ensue. That having been said, this combination will provide an excellent opportunity for the Aries parent to learn such skills on a personal level. If the adult Aries can accomplish this, then the equality required in order to ensure domestic harmony (with the least amount of strife) will be much more easily attained. Nevertheless, this combination will create a natural abundance of enthusiasm from both parent and child for new ventures, resulting in a wealth of fond memories filled with recollections of adventurous and fun times spent in the company of each other.

Taurus Parent/Aries Child: Since Taurus is by nature a Sign somewhat set in its ways, it will be difficult for the Aries child to accept the "this is the way it is and this is the way it stays" attitude. Inherently headstrong, the little Aries will follow his or her own path in this relationship regardless and it will be necessary for the Taurus parent to accept this trait, learning to guide rather than lead...an Aries child can respect guidance but will reject dominance. In a situation such as this combination, the Taurus parent will be required to teach by example so that the little Aries is able to learn about the finer things in life.

Gemini Parent/Aries Child: This is likely to be an argumentative relationship, combined with much energy and plenty of activity. This parent/child combination may not always see "eye-to-eye," but both will enjoy the friction created by their debates. This relationship will likely spawn lots of plans and schemes...jokes and card games...and, in spite of the argumentative facade, will find immense enjoyment in the company of each other.

Cancer Parent/Aries Child: Any native of Cancer adores the security of home life and would love to have his or her small children constantly nestled beneath the security of a protective wing. However, any child of Aries is sure to "create waves" in the idealistic domestic bliss envisioned by a Cancer parent. The little Aries possesses far too much energy to be happy in one place for too long and the adult Cancer must carefully guard against placing too many restraints on his or her fiery offspring. Such a smothering effect will only dampen the inherent Aries enthusiasm for life in general. In this situation, it would be best for the Cancer parent to encourage the young Aries to participate in sporting activities, which will deplete the little one's vast store of competitive energy. Such events will also allow the Cancer parent to bestow all the praise and love he or she desires upon the Aries child from the healthy distance of the sidelines.

Leo Parent/Aries Child: There could be a great deal of conflict in this relationship. The headstrong Aries child will by nature balk against the imposition of authority and refuse to accept boundaries or limitations. Since Leo is inherently bossy in character, any attempt to institute rules and regulations upon the Aries child will result in temper tantrums and disgruntled whining. On the more positive side, however, both the parent and child in this combination share a love of sports and games. Thus, it will be through the undertaking of such pasttimes that a firm bond could be forged and fond memories shared.

Virgo Parent/Aries Child: A Virgo native will want any home to be neat and tidy. However, the Aries child is apt to wreak havoc and leave a trail of destruction in his or her wake. This little one is overflowing with energy and possesses absolutely no patience...when he or she wants something, the demand is immediate and kicking (not to mention screaming) can be the end result of any attempt to thwart his or her desires. This type of demanding behavior can have a somewhat detrimental effect on the delicate nervous system of the Virgo parent. However, since those governed by Virgo can be quite articulate and are well-known for a sharp mind, it will be with verbal ability that the Virgo parent can best outwit his or her energetic Aries offspring. The little Aries cannot help but admire and respect the ability of the Virgo parent to employ words as a formidable weapon.

Libra Parent/Aries Child: This parent/child combination is likely to have more in common than would first be imagined. These Signs are on opposite sides of the Zodiac and, as such, share many similar traits. The Libra parent will be drawn to the dynamic energy and direct nature of his or her Aries child...and such are the energies required by the Libra adult in order to develop as a parent. On the other hand, the Libra parent is ideally qualified to teach the little Aries the art of considering the needs of others. The bouncy and energetic little Aries is sure to bring an abundance of pleasure into any home being run by a Libra parent.

Scorpio Parent/Aries Child: This could prove to be a very difficult relationship for both parent and child. While it is inherent in the Scorpio nature to "feel too much," the Aries child appears to not "feel" at all. Where Scorpio is intensely emotional, Aries seems to be totally lacking in emotion. The Aries child is so energetic that any Scorpio parent may find it difficult to keep up. It is important in this combination for the Scorpio parent to guard against the deep and heavy emotions associated with the personality attributed to that Sign...in other words, it is paramount that the active little Aries not be stifled.

Sagittarius Parent/Aries Child: This combination of two Fire Signs usually results in a pair of adventurous explorers and pioneers. Since there will be so many exciting things to do together, there will be a great friendship here in addition to the parent/child relationship. A Sagittarius parent can be very childlike in character and will thoroughly enjoy the many adventures which seem to occur naturally in the vicinity of the Aries child. The danger in this relationship is that the Sagittarius parent may forget that he or she is now responsible for the safety of a small child. In addition, little Aries can be very demanding and this may lead to some problems for the Sagittarius adult, who is extremely fond of personal freedom and space. Nonetheless, on the whole, this will be a wonderful relationship and there will be a wide array of shared interests.

Capricorn Parent/Aries Child: The strict nature of the Capricorn parent can make for a challenging relationship when it comes to the energetic and fiery Aries child. This adventurous and fast-moving little one will feel that his or her energy is being squashed by the finger-wagging Capricorn parent. On the other hand, the Capricorn parent is liable to suffer constant worry about his or her foolhardy Aries child, constantly advising this youngster to slown down and take fewer risks. Often, the little Aries will view his or her Capricorn parent as pessimistic and old-fashioned. This combination will make for a challenging relationship which will frustrate both and, at times, amuse each other.

Aquarius Parent/Aries Child: Vision and action blend nicely in this parent/child relationship. Because Aquarius and Aries are two Signs apart in the Zodiac, they are very compatible. Neither parent nor child feel fear of the outside world and both enjoy experiences that are new and unusual. The Aquarius parent can introduce his or her Aries offspring to new and unique ways of doing things, while the Aries child will possess an abundance of energy to go and experience what he or she has just been shown. Both Aquarius and Aries are fond of freedom and very independent by nature. Thus, both parent and child in this relationship will be at liberty to "do their own thing" without one holding back the other. The chief drawback here is the inherently cool personality of the Aquarius character. Fire Signs, such as Aries, need warmth and to the Aries child, the aloof quality of an Aquarius parent can sometimes be perceived as rejection.

Pisces Parent/Aries Child: Being by nature a "dreamer," the gentle and soft nature of Pisces is able to accept the energies of any child who comes into his or her life. The little Aries can be very headstrong and outgoing...qualities he or she will certainly employ in order to wake any Pisces parent out of the constant "dream." A Pisces parent will always be there to "give" on a person level to any offspring and the Aries child...whose life revolves around himself or herself...will most likely take full advantage of this. Overflowing with vitality, little Aries can benefit from the laid-back energies of a Pisces parent, enabling this youngster to relax and prepare for another pioneering adventure. In order to keep up with an Aries child, any Pisces parent will need to venture out into the world and experience other things apart from his or her own "dreamy" life. If this parent and child can work well together (and they usually do), then both will be able to achieve their dreams.
